Something for Everyone At The Dance Center!


The Xtreme Dance Center (XDC) offers all styles of dance for all ages and for all levels; beginners-thru- advanced levels and for ages 2-thru-Adult. Below are a brief description and a list of classes that are offered at the Center.
All Classes are open to the general public.
Classes subject to change or cancel pending enrollment. Check website for updated schedule.

Adult Hip Hop:
Begin with stretch and strengthening followed by learning a basic but challenging hip hop combination.

Ballet:
Basic to advanced ballet technique is taught in this class with ballet bar or floor bar, across the floor and center combinations
Conditioning/toning/shaping for dancers:
Intense workout for dancers to work on their core and toning muscles to enhance their strength

Contemporary:
Contemporary style jazz

Contemporary Ballet:
Basic to advanced ballet technique contemporary style is taught in this class with ballet bar or floor bar, across the floor and center combinations.

Break Dancing:
Basic to advanced break dancing footwork and style along with head stands, helicopters, coffee grinders, etc… and many more fun break dancing tricks and moves

Break Dancing Freestyle:
Come improve and work on your break dancing footwork and abilities with this open studio atmosphere; Use the studio and the gymnastic mats in this open gym atmosphere

Hip Hop:
Extensive warm-ups, strengthening and stretching are all a part of this class as Combinations are taught comparable to what you would see on MTV’s ABDC or Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. Dancers are challenged to be and become better the more intermediate and advanced classes that they take.

Hip Hop Freestyle:
Work on your freestyle abilities as you learn musicality and how to move your body to the music without choreography because you create your own.

Jazz/Lyrical:
All Styles and Techniques are taught in the jazz classes. Start with a technical warm-up followed by across the floor combinations and a challenging floor combination towards the end of class.

Jazz / Contemporary/ Improv:
Learn how to Improv with these various jazz, contemporary, and modern styles of dance. The movement and range of motion used is endless, and draws on each dancer’s personal expression and creativity; Improvisation and creative exercises.


Modern:
A contemporary dance form that has its’ roots in ballet; Classes include center and floor work that incorporate the sense of gravity and weightlessness in the body.

Pilates:
Join in the intense workout of Pilates for beginners to advanced levels.

Pre-Pointe / Pointe:
Pre-Pointe prepares the dancer for Pointe shoes; Improves ankle/foot strength, and overall body placement. Dancers are periodically evaluated for Pointe readiness by the instructor. Pointe students work on ankle / foot strength and overall body placement in Pointe shoes.

Tap:
Basic to advanced tap technique is taught in this class; with rhythmic and detailed combinations given to challenge every dancer.

Turns and Leaps:
Enhance your training with this class that pushes you as you work on a wide variety of Turns and Leaps/Jumps

Tumbling:
Beginner Tumbling Class will consist of...
• Warm-up/Stretch

• Across the Floor/Tumbling Drills
• Conditioning

Class Objectives:

Elementary Skills
• Forward/Backward Rolls-Bridges-Backbends-Backbend Kick Overs
• Donkey Kicks-Handstands-Walking Handstands-Handstand Front Limber-Front Walkover
• Tripods/Head Stand-Cartwheels (Rt./Lft.)

Intermediate Skills
• Back Extension Rolls-Flip Flops-Back/Front Tucks
• Round Offs-Aerial Cartwheels
Advanced Skills
• Any sequence of combining skills!

Yoga:
This class will help you work on your flexibility, physical fitness and most importantly find peace and relaxation within yourself.

Junior Program Descriptions


Basic Petite Ballet:
Learn basic technique in Ballet as they enhance their love for dance. Start with a stretch and strengthening. They will work at the bar with various ballet basic technical moves and across the floor.

Basic Petite Jazz:
Learn Basic Jazz technique as they enhance their love for dance. They will learn basic movements and turns.

Ballet JR:
Learn basic technique in Ballet as they enhance their love for dance. Start with a stretch and strengthening. They will work at the bar with various ballet basic technical moves and across the floor.

Funky Turning Divas Jazz:
Enhance your training with this class that pushes you as you work on a wide variety of Turns.

Hip Hop JR:
Learn basic hip hop moves as you enhance your love for dance as you learn to all the new pop artists’ songs.

Jazz / Tap Combo:
Learn basic technique in Jazz and Tap as they enhance their love for dance. Start with a stretch and strengthening. With Jazz they will learn the basic movements and turns. With Tap they will learn the basic shuffle and steps of tap.

Jazz/Hip Hop/Tap Combo:
Learn basic technique in Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop as they enhance their love for dance. Start with a stretch and strengthening. With Jazz they will learn the basic movements and turns. With Tap they will learn the basic shuffle and steps of tap. With Hip Hop they will learn basic hip hop moves.

Ballet/Tap/Hip Hop Combo:
Learn basic technique in Ballet and Jazz as they enhance their love for dance. Start with a stretch and strengthening. With ballet they will work with the bar and various ballet basic technical moves. With Tap they will learn the basic shuffle and steps of tap. With Hip Hop they will learn basic hip hop moves.
